After receiving the Seoul Peace Prize for 2018, PM Modi on Thursday received the Zayed Medal, the United Arab Emirates’ highest civilian award. This award is given to PM Modi as a mark of recognition for his works to boost bilateral ties among the two nations.

Earlier, this award has been bestowed to former US President George W Bush, Russian President Vladimir Putin, former France President Nicolas Sarkozy, Queen Elizabeth II from the United Kingdom, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

After bestowing the award, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed, tweeted that UAE President has awarded Indian PM Narendra Modi with honorable the Zayed Medal.

He wrote,

“We have historical and comprehensive strategic ties with India, reinforced by the pivotal role of my dear friend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who gave these relations a big boost. In appreciation of his efforts, the UAE President grants him the Zayed Medal.”

He also added,

“By granting our dear friend the Indian Prime Minister the Zayed Medal, we express our appreciation for his role and efforts in developing friendly relations and extending bridges of cooperation between the UAE and the Republic of India in various fields.”

In regards to this, the Ministry of External Affairs said,
