Ayodhya Verdict: PM Modi Appeals for Harmony, Unity & Peace to Everyone

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to the people of the country to maintain harmony together before the Supreme Court judgment on the communally sensitive Ayodhya land dispute case. He posted three tweets in Hindi on his official Twitter handle regarding the same.

The PM appreciated the efforts made by all sections of the society for maintaining a positive atmosphere in the last few months while the matter was being heard in the Supreme Court. He wrote in his first tweet-

“The Supreme Court’s decision on Ayodhya is coming tomorrow. For the past few months, the matter was being heard continuously in the Supreme Court, the whole country was watching eagerly. During this period, the efforts made by all sections of the society to maintain an atmosphere of goodwill are greatly appreciated.”

In another tweet, PM Modi urged everyone to maintain communal harmony and a positive atmosphere after the court’s decision. He tweeted-

“Keeping the honor of the judiciary of the country paramount, all the sides of the society, socio-cultural organizations, all the parties who have made efforts to create a harmonious and positive atmosphere in the past are welcome. Even after the decision of the court, we all have to maintain harmony together.”

Further, PM Modi said that the decision on the matter should strengthen the peace, unity, and goodwill in India. Saying that the verdict will not be a matter of win or loss for anyone, he tweeted-

“Whatever decision of the Supreme Court will come on Ayodhya, it will not be a victory or defeat for anyone. My appeal to the countrymen is that it should be the priority of all of us that this decision should further strengthen the great tradition of peace, unity and goodwill of India.”

Today, the 5-judge bench, headed by the Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, passed the historic judgment at 10.30 AM. The SC cleared the way for building the Ram temple at the disputed site of Ayodhya. Also, it directed the Central govt to allot a 5-acre land to the Sunni Waqf board to build the Babri mosque.
