Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Dehradun yesterday to attend the main International Yoga Day event and perform yoga asana.
Reportedly, he reached there at night and received a warm welcome by some of the leaders of Uttarakhand including Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, Governor K K Paul, Assembly Speaker Premchand Aggarwal, State BJP President Ajay Bhatt, Haridwar MP Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh and DGP Anil Raturi.
Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the eve of International Yoga Day joined thousands of yoga enthusiasts performing Yoga asana in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun to celebrate the 4th International Yoga Day. The Yoga event was held at the iconic British-era building of Forest Research Institute campus, Dehradun.
While saying a few words on the occasion, he praised the ancient Indian discipline of yoga and said that it has emerged as a powerful tool. He also added,
“We have the perfect solution to the problems we face, either as individuals or in our society”.
On this occasion, the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat posted a blog and thanked PM Modi for choosing Uttarakhand to host the event. He said that he will establish the state’s identity as the land of yoga and will enhance the tourism in order to generate fresh job opportunities.
