July 6th, 2018: PM Narendra Modi paid tribute to Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha’s former president Syama Prasad Mookerjee in New Delhi on the occasion of his 32nd anniversary.
“On his Jayanti, I bow to Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee. Dr. Mookerjee is remembered as a fine educationist, a wonderful administrator and a stalwart who fought for India’s freedom as well as unity,” PM Narendra Modi tweeted.
Dr. Mookerjee served as the Cabinet Minister for Industry and Supply during PM Jawaharlal Nehru’s reign but parted ways with Congress party due to his strong proponency for removal of Article 370 from Jammu And Kashmir.
“Mookerjee’s life stands as an inspiration for all of us even today,” PM tweeted.
He also shared a picture of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee.
