PM Wishes Mizoram & Arunachal Pradesh People on Statehood Day

On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his official Twitter handle to greet the citizens of Indian states Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh on their State Foundation Day or Statehood Day.

Yesterday, the PM wished the people of Mizoram on occasion of their Statehood Day. He said that the state’s rich culture is our pride and added that its citizens made a great contribution to the country’s growth by excelling in different fields.

PM Modi also prayed for the state’s development in years to come. He tweeted-

“On the occasion of their Statehood Day, greetings to the wonderful people of Mizoram. We are proud of the rich culture of this state. Those belonging to Mizoram have excelled in many spheres and contributed to India’s growth. Praying for Mizoram’s development in the coming years.”

In another tweet, he greeted the people of Arunachal Pradesh on their Statehood Day and wished for the state’s growth. He added that it is synonymous with patriotism and a steady commitment to the country’s progress. The PM wrote in his tweet-

“Best wishes to the people of Arunachal Pradesh on their Statehood Day. This state is synonymous with patriotism and unwavering commitment to national progress. Praying for Arunachal Pradesh’s continuous growth.”

Similar to various other northeastern Indian states, Mizoram was formerly part of Assam. Then in 1972, it became a Union Territory. Later, it achieved the status as the 23rd state of India, a step above Union Territory, on 20 February 1987, with the Fifty-Third Amendment of the Indian Constitution, 1986. Also, Arunachal Pradesh earned statehood on the same day, 20 February 1987.

Moreover, today on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, where the devotees across the country worship Hindu deity Lord Shiva, PM Modi greeted people of the nation and tweeted in Hindi-

“आप सभी को महाशिवरात्रि की हार्दिक शुभकामनाएं। बाबा भोलेनाथ के आशीर्वाद से सभी देशवासियों के जीवन में सुख, शांति, समृद्धि और सौभाग्य आए। ऊँ नम: शिवाय!”

In English, the above tweet translates to-

“Happy Mahashivratri to all of you. May blessings of Baba Bholenath bring happiness, peace, prosperity, and good fortune in the lives of all the countrymen. Om Namah Shivaay!”

Further, the PM wished happiness and good health for everyone on the pious occasion of Herath (Kashmiri word for Shivratri), which is celebrated in Kashmir valley, and tweeted-

“Herath Mubarak!

May there be peace and prosperity all over. Praying for everyone’s happiness and good health. 🙏🏽”
