PM Modi Urges IFS Trainees to Adopt Latest Technology Willingly

After completing the Kedarnath trip, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a meeting with thirty-nine officer trainees of Indian Foreign Service on Monday.

While addressing the Officer Trainees, PM Modi emphasized the value of representing India abroad in the context of India’s rich history, traditions, and culture. The Prime Minister said that IFS Officers must remain aware of the current national priorities as well as to future requirements for national development.

Also, the Prime Minister urged the Trainee Officers to become more tech-savvy and engage fully with the State governments and diaspora, important stakeholders in the conduct of foreign relations.

Two diplomats from Bhutan, who are already under training at the Foreign Service Institute, also joined the group.

In the interaction with 2018 batch of Indian Foreign Service (officer trainees) in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged young foreign service officers to adopt the latest technology willingly. Also, he discussed aspects of the foreign policy along with India’s increasing growth in the 21st century.

After the meeting, Prime Minister Modi took to Twitter, shared the picture of interaction and wrote,

“Had a great interaction with officer trainees of 2018 batch of the Indian Foreign Service. We discussed India’s rising stature in the 21st century and other aspects of foreign policy. Also urged young officers to be at the forefront of adapting to new technologies.”
