PM Modi, President Kovind Pay Tribute to Father of Indian Constitution

Yesterday on an auspicious occasion of Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind paid homage to father of the Indian Constitution and Dalit social reformer Dr. BR Ambedkar on his 128th birth anniversary.

Prime Minister Modi took to Twitter and wrote,

“संविधान निर्माता और सामाजिक न्याय के प्रणेता बाबासाहेब डॉ. भीमराव अम्बेडकर को उनकी जयंती पर सादर नमन। जय भीम!”

Meanwhile, in a video tribute on Twitter, Prime Minister Modi said-

“He (Ambedkar) is an inspiration to crores of people including me. It is not necessary for a person to born in a rich family. In India, a person born in a poor family can also dream of big things and can achieve them.”

Also, President Ram Nath Kovind took to Twitter and wrote,

“Homage to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on his birth anniversary. An icon of our nation, and Chief Architect of the Constitution, Dr. Ambedkar waged a life-long struggle for a modern India free of caste and other prejudices, ensuring equal rights for women and weaker sections #PresidentKovind”

Later, UP CM Yogi Aditya Nath also tweeted,

“I bow down in reverence of Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Dr. B R Ambedkar, an apostle of equality & freedom, and whose work left an indelible mark on making of New India.

I draw supreme inspiration from your ideas, which constantly guide me to work for the welfare & dignity of our people.”

Babasaheb commonly known as Dr. Ambedkar dedicated his whole life towards the upliftment of untouchables, laborers as well as women.

Dr. Ambedkar became independent India’s first law minister who was born into a poor Dalit family on 14 April 1891. He later became a founding father of the Republic of India and the principal architect of the Constitution of India.

Moreover, he campaigned against the social discrimination of Dalits and inspired the Dalit Buddhist Movement in 1956 for his whole life. Also, he was awarded India’s highest civilian award the Bharat Ratna posthumously in 1990.

Babasaheb Dr. Ambedkar worked as an economist of great repute who always stood for an economically strong India. He established some facts that industrialization was the best way to fight poverty.

Every year on April 14, Ambedkar Jayanti or Bhim Jayanti is celebrated only to commemorate the reformer and his contributions.
