PM Modi Inaugurates Garvi Gujarat Bhawan, Addresses a Gathering

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally inaugurated the newly constructed Gujarat Bhawan at Akbar Road in New Delhi. Also, he addressed a gathering at the state complex. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel attended the inauguration ceremony of the new building.

The central govt allotted an area of 7,066 square meters for the construction of the new building, which is built at an estimated cost of 131 crores by the state govt of Gujarat. It has 59 regular rooms, 19 suite rooms, a restaurant, a public dining hall, a business center, a souvenir shop, a multi-purpose hall, conference hall, four lounges, a gymnasium, a yoga center, a terrace garden, and a library.

The green norms have been adhered to for the construction of the new building, a blend of traditional architecture and modern technology reflecting a rich culture of Gujarat. Gujarat CM told the media that it is the “first eco-friendly” state complex in the Indian capital. Also, it took three additional months to complete from its deadline.

Also, the old Gujarat Bhavan that is located at Chanakyapuri would continue to be functional.

When PM Modi arrived at the venue, he was welcomed with the traditional Garba performance. He took a tour of the building and closely looked at the detailing that went into its construction.

After visiting the state bhawan, he tweeted-

“Located in the heart of Delhi, the Garvi Gujarat Sadan will further popularise aspects of Gujarat’s glorious culture! This Sadan has been completed before time and is an eco-friendly building too.

Had the honour of inaugurating it today. Sharing some glimpses.”

Earlier, PM Modi also took to Twitter to wish people of the nation on occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. He wrote-

“सभी देशवासियों को पावन पर्व गणेश चतुर्थी की ढेर सारी शुभकामनाएं। गणपति बाप्पा मोरया!

Wishing everyone a blessed Ganesh Chaturthi.”

And later, on the special occasion of Samvatsari, he wished people ‘Michhami Dukkadam’ and wrote in a tweet:

“The special occasion of Samvatsari is about being large-hearted, compassionate and harmonious. It motivates us to further the spirit of brotherhood in society. Michhami Dukkadam!”
