PM Addresses a Rally in Sakoli & Jalgaon Ahead of Maharashtra Polls

Ahead of the Maharashtra polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday began campaigning for the state polls. Within four days, he would be addressing nine rallies in the state for the BJP’s second consecutive term. Yesterday, he addressed two big rallies in Jalgaon district and Sakoli town of Maharashtra.

During a public meeting PM Modi addressed in Jalgaon, he began in Marathi and thanked the people of Maharashtra for their support during General Elections 2019. He said that the countries across the globe shown support for India. He said,

“The New India has an unprecedented place in the world today, and the reason behind this is 130 crore people of the country.”

He added-

“New India is not just securing its present but it is also progressing towards its future.”

The PM reiterated the BJP-led NDA govt’s decision of scrapping Article 370 and 35A in J&K, saying-

“On August 5, we did something that people thought was impossible. We removed Article 370 so that the people of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh could progress along with the rest of the country.”

He further said that J&K and Ladakh are not only a piece of land for us but are also India’s crown. PM Modi responded to the opposition’s complaints regarding this government’s judgment, asking them to alter it “if they dare.” The PM questioned-

“Do you think anyone has the courage to bring it back? Will their political career survive if they dare to?”

He further added-

“From the land of Chhatrapati Shivaji, I challenge the opposition to make their stand clear and announce if they support the decision taken by the government to remove Article 35 A and Article 370.”

PM Modi hailed the people of India and stated,

“It is your trust that is continuously inspiring us and giving us the strength to take strong & big decisions. It is because of your trust that we are able to take strong steps, steps that people were hesitant and scared to take earlier.”

Then, PM Modi highlighted the benefits that the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme has offered to farmers-

“During the Lok Sabha elections, we promised you that soon after the formation of the government, the benefits of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi will be extended to every farmer. Today, in Maharashtra the financial aid is being transferred directly to their bank accounts.”

Moreover, the PM mentioned the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Mandhan Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Vyapari Mandhan Yojana.

Also, PM Modi pledged to connect each house with water in the whole nation, including Maharashtra. He said-

“Three and a half lakh crore rupees will be spent on the Jal Jeevan Mission to fulfill this resolution.”

During the election rally in Sakoli, PM Modi said-

“Today, every policy, every strategy, is for the welfare of the nation from public welfare, nation-building through public campaign. Whether the poor’s home and toilets are built, every household has an electricity connection, the poor get free treatment. Poor and common people are at the center of all these schemes.”

PM Modi said that Devendra Fadnavis-led government is seeking five more years to serve the state.

The BJP would be contesting for polls for 150 seats, its ally Shiv Sena for 124 constituencies, and alliance partners of BJP for 14 seats on the party’s lotus symbol. For the 288-member Assembly, the single-phase voting would take place on October 21. The counting of votes would be held on October 24.
