PM Addresses a Public Meeting in Mathura, Launches Welfare Schemes

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Mathura addressed a public meeting as well as inaugurated various programs and schemes related to animal and farmers’ welfare. Yesterday, he arrived there early morning, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath came to receive the PM.

Moreover, earlier yesterday, he visited a cattle farm and was seen playing with a calf. He launched nationwide workshops in Krishi Vigyan Kendras in the 687 Indian districts regarding disease management, vaccination, artificial insemination, and productivity.

PM launched the ‘National Animal Disease Control Programme’ (NADCP), which aims to eradicate Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) and Brucellosis in the livestock (cattle, buffalo, sheep, goats, and pigs) and vaccinating more than 500 million livestock (36 million female bovine calves annually) in India. This program will be implemented for five years until 2024 at an estimated cost of nearly Rs 13,000 crores, with 100% funding from the central govt.

The above program has two parts: controlling the diseases by 2025 and eradicating them by 2030. Also, PM launched the ‘National Artificial Insemination Programme’ and Babugarh Sex Semen facility.

At ‘Swacchata Hi Seva‘ program, he also met the women who segregate plastic waste from garbage piles in the city and even helped them. PM Modi is on a mission to entirely eradicate the single-use plastic waste from the nation. He launched the campaign against single-use plastic products. PM tweeted-

“As we begin ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ and pledge to reduce single use plastic, I sat down with those who segregate plastic waste.

I salute them for their hardwork and contribution towards fulfilling Bapu’s dream.”

After his visit to the Pashu Arogya Mela, he tweeted-

In another tweet, he wrote-

“Sights that made me very sad.

At the Pashu Arogya Mela in Mathura, saw cows being operated and heaps of plastic being removed from their bodies.

This is deplorable and should inspire us to work towards reduced and careful plastic usage.”
