On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the doors of Modi Government and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are open for an alliance in the state for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Since 2019 election is around the corner, and we have seen there is no specific party in Tamil Nadu which completely supports Modi Govt, so during the talk of an alliance, PM Modi said that “the doors of his party are open.”
This expression of Prime Minister came in the time while having interaction with booth level BJP workers of five parliamentary constituencies namely Cuddalore, Dharmapuri, Arakkonam, Krishnagiri and Erode in Tamil Nadu.
In the same interaction, one of the workers questioned that there were rumors that the BJP may ally with the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) or Megastar Rajinikanth who will also float a political party in the coming Lok Sabha elections in 2019.
Hence, PM Modi said,
“Strong NDA is an article of faith for us. It is not a compulsion. Even when the BJP won a majority on its own, we preferred to run the government with our allies. We cherish our old friends and our doors are always open for parties. But more than political issues, the winning alliance is the alliance of the people.”
Moreover, Modi called the question interesting and said that each media person wants to know about it. So, he said,
“Atal ji [Atal Bihari Vajpayee] brought a new culture in Indian politics — that is of successful coalition politics. He gave top importance to regional aspirations. He showed that the Centre and the state can work together for the welfare of our nation.
But Atalji indeed was in direct contrast to the Congress which has never cared for regional aspirations. Congress ill-treated regional parties, regional aspirations, and regional people because they felt that they alone have the right to be in power.”
Moreover, according to reports, the Prime Minister said that it was the arrogance of Congress Party when in of the meeting, they announced that their party did not want an alliance.
“Even today, when the Congress does not find a place in the alliance in Uttar Pradesh, their leaders are back to their arrogance and say we will surprise everyone.”
Furthermore, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged that Tamil Nadu took plenty of initiatives in areas from investment to infrastructure and from the skill development to the social sector and described how these projects would go a long way in transforming the lives of people.
“No government has done for Tamil Nadu as much as we have. We are working hard to bring a holistic change in the lives of poor across various sectors.”
Moreover, he applauded the efforts and hard work of BJP workers in ensuring a strong and invincible organization which works for the humankind first.
“The heights that the BJP has reached today are due to the efforts and sacrifices of our workers. Our yesterday was due to workers, our today is due to workers and our tomorrow will be due to workers.”
