Lok Sabha Elections 2019 Begin Today: PM Modi Urges All to Participate

As today the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 begins, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his Twitter handle and called upon voters to turn out in large numbers for polling on 91 seats across 18 states and two UTs.

He wrote,

“2019 Lok Sabha elections commence today.

I call upon all those whose constituencies are voting in the first phase today to turn out in record numbers and exercise their franchise.

I specially urge young and first-time voters to vote in large numbers.”

Also at Maharashtra rally on Tuesday, PM Modi directly appealed “my first-time voters,” urging millennials to go for BJP while referring to his key campaign points.

Earlier also PM Modi went on a tweet spree using #VoteKar to motivate people to participate in the mega exercise of country’s 17th Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

Also, Amit Shah, Bharatiya Janata Party Chief requested the people to vote and said the “power of democracy lies in your vote.

He wrote,

“As the voting for the first phase of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections will begin today, i request each and every voter to come out and vote. The power of democracy lies in your single vote, your one vote will decide the future of this great nation.”

Later, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh also asked people of the nation to “participate in the biggest festival of democracy.”

He wrote,

“Today is a big day when the polling process begins for 91 Lok Sabha seats in the first phase of General Election 2019. I urge all the voters to participate in the biggest festival of democracy and vote in huge numbers.”

These are the leaders among the first leaders who tweeted to encourage people to come out and vote in large numbers as the clock ticked seven this morning.

The fates of 1,279 candidates will be decided by a total of 142 million people who will vote in 170,664 poll booths from today. Along with the mega exercise to elect the country’s 17th Lok Sabha, states of Sikkim and Andhra Pradesh will also vote for new assemblies on Thursday, as will parts of the coastal state of Odisha. Results of this voting exercise will be declared on May 23rd.

States like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Bihar, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh are going to vote among the state’s election today.

In seven phases, voting for the 543 Lok Sabha seats is going to be held that is 11th April, 18th April, 23rd April, 29th April, 6th May, 12th May, and 19th May. Results of this mega voting exercise will be declared on 23rd.
