BJP, Shiv Sena to Hold 6 Mega Rallies, PM Modi among Star Campaigners

Soon after the Election Commission announced the dates of polls, BJP & Shiv Sena decided to share the stage in around six joint rallies going to be held in Maharashtra. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be star campaigners in BJP and Shiv Sena’s joint rallies.

These rallies are going to begin by Friday. Late on Tuesday, the allies decided the schedule for six joint rallies in a closed-door meeting between CM Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray. According to some sources, the first rally will be held in Amravati, following which a public meeting will be held in Nagpur on Friday evening.

Further, for Sunday morning, the third rally is programmed in Aurangabad, and the fourth one will be organized in Nashik in the evening. Then on Monday, Navi Mumbai and Pune rallies are scheduled. However, the venue for the events is yet to be decided, told sources.

Sources claimed schedules would be:

March 15: Amravati and Nagpur

March 17: Aurangabad and Nashik

March 24: Mega rally in Kolhapur

Cabinet Ministers Chandrakant Dada Patil, Sudhir Mungantiwar, Thackeray’s son Aditya, Subhash Desai, and Sena Party Secretary Milind Narvekar were also present in the meeting which continued for almost two hours.

Sources claimed that a seat-sharing discussion was held between Maharashtra Chief Minister and Uddhav Thackeray earlier and further details of the meeting were shared with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.

Also, sources told that regarding the upcoming assembly elections in the state, the two parties reached an agreement that the BJP will contest on 145 of the total 288 seats for the Assembly elections slated to be held later in the year, the Shiv Sena getting the remaining 143 seats. The formula for seat-sharing also involves an agreement that the Shiv Sena would be allotted 6 to 7 seats which are presently held by BJP in the Maharashtra Assembly. Although, regarding this, there is no official confirmation yet from both parties.

The world’s largest democratic election exercise voting in Lok Sabha Election will be held across India in seven phases on April 11, April 19, April 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19. And, results for the same will be declared on May 23.
