As our beloved Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi turned 68 years, cabinet minister Prakash Javadekar and his cabinet colleague Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi unveiled a 568 Kg jumbo laddoo at an event in New Delhi on 17 September 2018, Monday.
A social service organization Sulabh International organized the event to mark the celebrations of PM Modi’s birthday as “Swachhta Diwas.” Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said, “Sanitation coverage has significantly increased in the country in last four years.”
Prakash Javadekar said, “More than nine crore toilets have been constructed under Swachhta Campaign and 450 lakh villages have been declared open defecation free(ODF).”
The HRD Minister said that 90 percent sanitation coverage of the country is under the leadership of PM Modi. Before this, the sanitation coverage stood for only 30 percent in the first 60 to 62 years.
“Sanitation has become a mass movement now”, said the Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.
“PM Sh @narendramodi has been working with the commitment to Clean India, Healthy India . Swachh Bharat Abhiyan #SwachhtaHiSeva has today become an effective mission with the participation & passion of common people of the country. (sic)” Naqvi later tweeted.
